After the presentation was accepted, the couple moved to LA. She continued her education at home, and also auditioned. Her TV debut was when she was chosen to play Laurie Partridge on the VH1 reality show In Search of the Partridge Family (2004). This resulted in a number of small TV roles over the years. Her popularity as Olive was a highlight of her role in Easy A (2010) followed by a series of roles. In Phoenix, Arizona, she attended Xavier College Preparatory. Although she's a redhead the hair color that is natural to her is blonde. Judd Apatow was the one who suggested that she change her hair's color for Superbad (2007). The movie was so well received that she decided to keep it. She convinced her parents to let her move to Hollywood when she turned fifteen by creating an PowerPoint presentation that was appropriately titled Project Hollywood. At 11 years old she began her acting career in the Valley Youth Theatre, Phoenix, AZ. There, she starred in sixteen stage productions, and also performed in the comedy Improv troupe.
